A 3-semester Certificate program and a 4-semester Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree are offered by the Ivy Tech Community College. Only a small number of students are recognized each year, and the selected ones have to go through a complete background check, drug testing along with physical examination. A total of 33 credits are required to complete the technical certificate program. On the other hand, the associate degree program requires 60 credits. However, these credits are for the program-ready students and not for the ones who will be required to take the prep course too.

Purdue University Global offers the medical assistant certificate program. The 10-week term course (15 hours per week) prepares the candidates to join the workforce directly after graduation. The university also offers online seminars, discussions, and a 160-hour clinical externship for a real-world training experience. The 58-credit program is fully offered online and enrolls students throughout the year that perfectly fits their bill.

They charge $371 per credit, but also provide great ways to save on tuition fee. International students get a fee waiver of 25%, and those with prior work experience or from a military background also become eligible to receive undergraduate credits. Besides, the students have the flexibility to use transfer credits from any other college too.

The university uses a combination of teaching methods that include the use of online discussion boards, chat sessions, seminars, and free of cost individual tutoring by highly trained faculties who are still active in their respective fields.  In addition, you can get a trial period of 3 weeks before investing in the course.

Founded in 1801, Vincennes University’s certificate in clinical medical assistant training program prepares students to practice patient skills in clinical settings during a 14-week long course. The 220-hour program covers 140 hours in the classroom and 80 hours at a clinical practicum set up.

The classes are usually held thrice a week from 6 to 9:30 pm. Upon completion of the program, the students are provided with a VU Certificate of Completion. For admission in this course, the aspirants must have a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent. To achieve the certificate at the end of the program, all students must show an excellent attendance record and must pass all the clinical tests, exams, and quizzes mandatorily. Even though it’s a non-credit program, the college renders letter grades upon completion.

A 10-month (2.5 semesters) diploma program and a 16-month (4 semesters) AAS degree are provided by the International Business College for medical assistants, along with an 8-week externship in simulated laboratory classrooms for real-world clinical experience. The college charges $430 from each student as the lab fee per semester.

Medical assistant classes at IBC are equipped with bi-ocular microscopes, electrocardiograph machines, and Stat Spin III. Near the end of the program, the students will be eligible to sit for the Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) exam by the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA). According to the employment analysis of the year 2018, the placement rate was 80% for the AAS degree graduates. However, the placement rate for the diploma course was a whopping 100%. The college offers benefits in tuition rates for those who stay enrolled full-time.

Ross Medical Education Center is a private organization that offers a certificate program, which is accessible with flexible class possibilities. If you choose regular classes, you can complete the diploma program in 30 weeks, and if you want the afternoon and evening classes, you can complete the course in 36 weeks.

The syllabus comprises a total of 6 modules that can be completed in any order. A 6-week long externship is also provided by the center.
