The 2-semester medical assistant program, accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP), emphasizes the affective, psychomotor, and cognitive learning of the students. The first semester is of 23 credits, and the second semester is of 16 credits. Medical terminology, medical office administration, anatomy, and physiology are some of the major subjects that you will study in this program. The school also provides career placement assistance to the successful students, upon graduation.

The college offers certifications in medical assisting and medical office assistant. Both programs include clinical practice and classroom theory that is aimed at preparing students for entry-level jobs in the healthcare industry. The credits earned can be transferred to earn an associate’s degree in General Studies: Health Specialization. After successful completion of the graduation, you are eligible to sit for the National Health Care Association examination to become a certified MA.

The medical assisting program provided by the Southeastern Technical College is recognized by the Commission of the Council on Occupational Education and the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs. Students are exposed to externship during the second semester. The graduates from this program can take the national exam conducted by the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) and render clinical and administrative duties in various healthcare settings.

The college offers a one-plus-one medical assistant program under which students are accepted into the certificate program for the first year. During the certificate program, students are supposed to complete 160 hours of supervised practicum. Upon completion of the certification, students can appear for the national exam, take the job, and/or may transfer to the Associate program for one more year. The associate degree program comprises 154 hours of supervised training and exposes students to various healthcare specialties such as gynecology, gastroenterology, pediatrics, etc. On successful completion of the 2 years program, the college awards Associate in Science in Medical Assistant.

The medical assisting certificate offered by the North Shore Community College is recognized by the CAAHEP. The program comprises practical experience along with classroom instruction. The graduates of this program can perform the administrative and clinical duties of a medical assistant in a legal, ethical, and professional manner.

The credits earned from this program can be applied to pursue an associate’s degree in Medical Support Specialist. Accredited by the CAAHEP, Middlesex Community School offers certificate (total credits: 29) and  the experienced staff uses assessments, visual aids, lectures, and externships to deliver the best learning. Both programs enable students to take up entry-level jobs upon graduation, perform clinical and administrative tasks safely and proficiently, and communicate efficiently with colleagues, supervisors, and patients. The courses focus on the development of both the psychomotor and cognitive skills of the students.

The 3-semester medical assisting certificate program offered by the Cape Cod Community College comprises 29 credits. Accredited by the CAAHEP, this certification hones the organizational, communication, and clinical skills of the students and prepare them for different roles in the healthcare settings. To enroll in the program, students are required to fulfill the MA technical standards and pass all the requisite tests. Upon graduation, you will gain competence in both clinical and administrative skills.

The MA certificate course prepares students for clinical and clerical roles in physician’s offices, hospitals, clinics, insurance companies, etc. The experienced teachers use modern teaching methodologies to train students to administer injections, check vital signs, perform administrative duties, and assist doctors with minor surgeries. Students are also supposed to undertake clinical externship to graduate from this program. After successful completion of the certification examination, you will get certified by the American Medical Technologists.

For enrollment in the 1 year medical assistant certificate program of this college, students have to fulfill certain requirements such as high school graduation, complete placement tests in mathematics, writing and reading, and attending an MA program information session. Moreover, a 245-hour/7-week clinical practicum in any healthcare facility is mandatory for graduation. After graduation, you are eligible to sit for the CMA certification exam to earn credentials from the certifying board of the AAMA.

The college offers a certification program in medical assisting, which comprises two semesters. The first semester is of 15 credits and covers medical terminology, medical assisting skills, medical computer applications, and many other topics.
